Debit card users please be aware of a new Vishing Fraud! On 2/1/2011, there have been multiple reports of carholders receiving automated and live phone call demanding account information. In at least one case, a message was left on the cardholders telephone asking the cardholder to call back to a toll-free telephone number to enter their information. Some calls have referenced "Visa Debit or Mastercard Debit". Some have referenced your Shazam Debit Card and others have no reference to any organization. Some call listed a "spoofed" caller ID number 1402. These calls are fraudulent and have not been authorized by Shazam or the Laona State Bank. If you have released any information by receiving these calls, please call us immediately and we will take the proper action to HOT your card.
FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE
All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010 through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and seperate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, money-market deposit accounts, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs").
